We camp where you wake up somewhere worth waking up in. Lake Naivasha for the hippos at dawn, the Hell's Gate campsites under the cliffs, the Aberdare moorland when people want cold nights around a serious fire.
Tents, mattresses and cooking gear come with us. You bring a sleeping bag, warm layers and a torch. Evenings are the point of the trip more than the destination is, so we keep the group small enough that everybody knows everybody by the second night.
Where this takes you
Lake Naivasha
Lakeside camping an hour and a half from Nairobi. Boat rides and a walk on Crescent Island where you move on foot among zebra and giraffe.
Hell's Gate
Camp inside the park below the cliffs, cycle the valley floor in the morning then walk the Ol Njorowa gorge.
Aberdare moorland
High, cold and quiet. Bring every warm layer you own. The night sky up here is the whole reason to come.
